Have you been in a situation where you have zeal for lots of things but don’t know where to start from?
Have you been in a situation where you see yourself doing pieces of everything, eventually doing nothing or achieving nothing?
This is what I call, Lost In The Waters.
Not that you cannot swim, but, you are lost and don’t know where to turn to first.
You want to do A, B, C and D, but while you are doing A, you feel like you have to do B also, then C and even D.
You are lost, frustrated, tired, and even feeling boredom over and over again.
What do you do? What do you have to do? What would you do to help yourself in this dilemma of a situation?
What I will tell you is this; as a solution to these frustrations, Focus on one thing among the lot, “forsaking” the rest as if they never existed.
If the one thing is, doing Project A, Focus on project A to get it to where it has to get to or where it can be put on fallow period.
Yes.
I say this because, if you frustrate yourself in trying to do all 4 projects, let’s say project A, B, C and D, you will become Jack of all trade, who is a master of None: That will be a dreadful place to be.
Pray to God about it, asking Him to lead you to which project or which two projects you should start with.
You can as well list all the projects you have in mind, look at them closely and arrange them in ascending order according to their dependencies on each other.
For instance, you want to write and publish a book, create a blog, partake in ministrations, preach, and do a podcast.
All of these require some strength and dedication.
Meanwhile, you are a worker in someone’s firm too; working for 8 hours straight in a day.
What do you do?
This is what you have to do.
Look at the projects closely, you will realize that, should you publish a book now, you will need people to know you before they will buy or people would have to have some belief in your content before they will buy. Without people, you may publish the book alright but may not be able to make sales.
So, creating a blog first, while partaking in some ministrations will help people see you and your passion as you are giving it out for free with integrity.
With this audience created or achieved, you are sure to have people know you and your content to be able to patronize your books should you publish them.
Also, you will be easily recommended to preach or be supported on the path which will lead you to preach.
The same with the podcast: With the audience covered and integrity achieved, creating a podcast will be so convenient and in time and enjoyable or even easy.
So you see, with this wisdom, you would have achieved every good result without wasting any time: i.e. killing 2 birds with 1 stone.
Don’t get lost in the waters. Don’t exhaust your energy on all of your purpose, dreams, goals, and aspirations without achieving anything. Focus on one, get it over to the other side of the sea, then come back for the others and get them across too. Check their dependencies also to know and be sure which one should be tackled first.
You would have never wasted time using this method. I can assure you. It would save you from much frustration and unachieved goals or objectives.
Don’t carry everything on your shoulders or in your boat at a time. Your boat may sink or you may get too tired.
Patiently serve each purpose differently.
