Have you stayed in a quiet place or a camp for a long time; say a week, and when you came back home or to the noisy place, everything seem weird and new to you; you felt as if you just fell from space to Earth?

I don’t know if you are getting the picture. But let’s look at this;

My town or hood is a busy and noisy place; everything happens for survival. I had the opportunity to travel to my uncle’s; a quiet place far from noise, cars hooting, and loud music.

I stayed there for some months. On my return, my town looked too noisy a place to live.

It felt so uncomfortable that I noticed how great my blessing was when I traveled.

With this experience, the Lord brought my attention today to how environment plays a great role in the activities of a priest.

The Bible says in Revelation 1:6 that, God formed us into a kingdom [as his subjects], priests to him, God and father- to Him be the glory and the power and the majesty and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

We see how important environment is when Jesus went to bring back the dead girl to life. He made all the criers (faithless people) to step aside and go out, while he entered into the girl’s chamber with his faith-filled disciples.

Our Lord Jesus mostly prayed alone on the mountains and other areas.

But in our technologically advanced 21ST century world, how can we get a priesthood environment? Is it even possible? What distort the serenity of our priesthood environment if priesthood environment is an environment or surrounding that boost or gives a good atmosphere for priesthood activities?

Priests of the Old Testament were found in the house/tents of God. They didn’t mingle with a lot of things but God’s.

Little Samuel was always in the presence of God. He didn’t associate with the ‘world’ or outside to get destructed or anything like that.

Can we get a good and effective priesthood environment in our day today? YES, WE CAN.

How?

We can get it by removing all obstacles or destruction. This may seem too known, but what I mean is, be in the Spirit so that you don’t fulfill the desires of the flesh.

PLAYING SECULAR SONGS, BEING CONSTANT ON SOCIAL MEDIA, ALWAYS CHATTING WITH FRIENDS AND THE LIKES DISTORT A POSSIBLE PRIESTHOOD ENVIRONMENT.

IF YOU DON’T GET A GOOD ENVIRONMENT, YOU WILL NOT FLOURISH.

Like seeds/plants, if they don’t get the right soil or environment, they will die.

Your environment either adds good to you or saps good out of you replacing it with evil. Don’t be too chatty or noisy all the time, don’t be always in people’s face, and don’t spend all your productive hours on social media just having fun. Pleasure is Vanity!

Strive to have some ‘mountainous’ environment of being alone with God or with the Bible/in prayer. Don’t be too available to your surrounding environment.

Run away into your priesthood environment and stay there for a while until the environment gets into you.

When the priesthood environment gets into you, you wouldn’t appreciate any “Not-priesthood environment”. In fact, you will see it for the evil that it is.

If you are a Christian and don’t have a good priesthood environment, but is every day and every time with friends chatting, visiting, shopping, chatting on social media, YOU WILL NOT GROW. YOU WILL NOT FLOURISH because your ‘soil’ isn’t good for growth.

WATCH IT!

Samuel was a child but still experienced God, King Saul was an older man but lost the experience/presence of God, David was young and little, but God knew him and he knew God too.

If you think your situation of loneliness is deteriorating your mind, know that David wasn’t even ‘recognized’ by his own family. He lived with animals. His only ‘hope’ was his harp, which he used to worship God.

Even Jesus wasn’t accepted by all; He was seen/known as the Carpenter’s son and couldn’t have been the Son of Man or Son of God that he says he is.

Ecclesiastes says that, if you wait for the right time to do something, YOU WILL NEVER DO ANYTHING.

Keep going!

Just keep going no matter what!

If you are in bad/good family situation, don’t allow it to get into your head. Seek God First…
