Temptation is more dangerous than Satan.
1 Corinthians 6:18 [Amplified Version] – Run away from sexual immorality [in any form, whether thought or behavior, whether visual or written]. Every other sin that a man commits is outside the body, but the one who is sexually immoral sins against his own body.
Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is within you, whom you have [received as a gift] from God, and that you are not your own [property]? 1 Corinthians 6:19[Amplified Version].
2 Timothy 2:22 [Amplified Version] – Run away from youthful lusts- pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace with those [believers] who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
(These two /three scriptures can be summed up as Flee from Temptations…)
James 4:7[Amplified Version] – So submit to [the authority of] God. Resist the devil [stand firm against him] and he will flee FROM you.
Look at the mechanisms we are advised to use to overcome these two evils: Flee and Resist.
What does it mean to flee, and what does it mean to resist?
FLEE 1. (Intransitive) – To run away; to escape. 2. (Transitive) To escape from. 3. (Intransitive) To disappear quickly; to vanish
RESIST 1. (Transitive) To attempt to counter the actions or effects of. 2. (Transitive) To withstand the actions of. 3. (Intransitive) To oppose 4. (Transitive) To be distasteful to
Withstand = to resist or endure. To oppose forcefully
Oppose = to attempt to stop the progression of; to resist or antagonize by physical means, or by arguments, etc; to contend against; to confront; to resist; to withstand.
From the above scriptures and definitions, we can conclude that, with the devil, all that we ought to do is to resist him and he will do the fleeing; that is, he will vanish or run away from us if we counter his actions.
How can we counter his actions and cause a ‘whole’ devil to run away from mortal men like us?
IT IS THROUGH THE USE OF THE WORD OF GOD.
The devil can come in different forms depending on your ‘access gates’ or your weakness. If your weakness is sex, movies, strip clubs, etc, he will persuade you through thoughts or just bring company (demons) along to torment you and seduce you into doing what you don’t want to do against God.
Temptation on the other hand doesn’t require resistance or persistence in any shape or form. All that it requires is you vanishing or running away without thinking twice.
Temptation is like an opened bomb or time bomb about to explode. I don’t think that if a bomb is thrown into your neighborhood or at you, you will think about anything first before fleeing. No! And with the fleeing, it is by any means possible and available; whether by running or by trying to create an emergency exit or escape however possible.
TEMPTATION IS MORE DANGEROUS THAN THE DEVIL.
Falling for a temptation is like giving your consent to do evil. In other words, coming out of your own free will to do wrong: You could have said “No”, or “Don’t do it”, but you choose to be evil or do that evil anyways.
The devil is just roaming like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. So with or without your consent, the devil can come at you. He will usually come at you when your godly light is shining before men and they are seeing your good works and glorifying your heavenly Father. If you are already in darkness, he cares less about you because there is no ‘investment’ to be made on you. But if you are in the light of God, girl, you are a huge deal for the devil, and he will come at you in any shape or form.
But there is no need to worry. Once you are in the light and under the shadow of the Almighty, if the devil comes at you, like what Jesus Christ did on the mountain during his fast, boldly resist him by quoting the authority he, the devil is under to him: Quote the scriptures with all authority to him, and he will definitely run away / flee from you.
The word of God is like a double-edged sword, and as a warrior, no matter how strong you are, if you don’t hold your sword with authority, but hold it with a double-mind or doubt, you will be killed by your opponent.
So, with the scriptures (the double-edged sword) when you quote (use) it, do it boldly with authority. As a matter of fact, the devil has been put under your foot by our Lord Jesus Christ. He made a public spectacle of the devil. But the only problem is that, if you walk in ignorance about your divine authority in God, through Jesus Christ, the devil will capitalize on that ignorance of yours to ‘Kill and Destroy’ you.
Luke 10:17-19 [Amplified Version] – The seventy returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name.” He said to them, “I watched Satan fall from heaven like [a flash of] lightning. Listen carefully: I have given you authority [that you now possess] to tread on serpents and scorpions, and [the ability to exercise authority] over ALL the power of the enemy (Satan); and nothing will [in any way] harm you.
You have authority over every power of Satan, if only you will use it!
Temptation on the other hand is like a student who refuses to learn at school, even though he has been provided with all the materials and teachers needed for him to pass /excel; he has willingly chosen his way over the way.
If You Choose Your Own Way Over God’s Way, it Means You Have Given Your Consent To Sin.
TEMPTATION IS MEANT TO BRING YOU DOWN, WHILE TESTS AND TRIALS FROM GOD IS MEANT TO MAKE YOU SPIRITUALLY, AND EVEN PHYSICALLY MATURED.
James 1:13-15 [Amplified Version] – let no one say when he is tempted, “I am being tempted by God” [for temptation does not originate from God, but from our own flaws]; for God cannot be tempted by [what is] evil, and He himself tempts no one. But each one is tempted when he is dragged away, enticed and baited [to commit sin] by his own [worldly] desire (lust, passion). Then when the illicit desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and when sin has run its course, it gives birth to DEATH.
This scripture says is it all; the origin of temptations (worldly desires) and the consequence of temptation(DEATH!).
Don’t perish for the lack of any biblical knowledge. Your inheritance, freedom, and authority are all spelt out in the Bible, if only you will dedicate yourself to reading it diligently, YOU WILL OVERCOME THE DEVIL AND HIS MILLION DEMONS, no matter how they come.
Stay Blessed.
Jesus Christ Loves You Dearly.
Please Do not Perish in your Sins.
Amen.
Stay Blessed.
Something to note: While satanism may eschew holy sites, gods and other tenets that are sacred to most religions, it places a high value on symbolism and art.
As Christians, we ought to be pure in heart in order to see God. If we take part in these symbols of satanism and give the excuse that it is just for fun or it is not anything serious, let’s know that the satanists take these symbols serious and it means a lot to them. “What has light got to do with darkness?” The scripture says. Don’t become lukewarm just like that all in the name of “we are having fun” or “it is nothing serious”.
Lukewarmness has no place in the Kingdom of God.There is no mansion for such a person in the Kingdom of God. TAKE NOTE!
Blessed [anticipating God’s presence, spiritually mature] are the pure in heart [those with integrity, moral courage, and godly character], for they will see God. [Matthew 5:8 Amplified Version]
Stay Blessed.
