Have you observed that people feel ‘comfortable’ when secular songs are being played on loud speakers, but should somebody play gospel songs on a loud speaker, he/she has to ‘apologize’ or ask for ‘permission’ or even internally the person would be feeling some uneasiness in a way like ‘you are disturbing the neighbors’?

Have you even felt this way before? Have you asked yourself why this is so, or why such feeling comes to you? Well, it is because there is one evil, but many ‘goods’.

Let me explain; I have observed that the ‘world’ agrees on one evil, but have different opinions about good. This attitude is even at its worst state because of religion. Moslems have a different ‘good’ while Christians have theirs, as well as the Buddhists and the rest. But when it comes to evil, they all seem to settle on one: They all agree on one Satan, but many different God/gods. How amazing!

From the Christian perspective, I can explain this attitude to be the fallen nature of man. Initially, man was more in the Spirit than he was in the flesh; He was naked and yet not ashamed. But now, as a result of Satan’s deceit and man’s fall, man has become more flesh conscious than Spirit conscious; he thinks about the things of the flesh easily than he thinks about the things of the Spirit. Likewise, things of the flesh seem easier for him to do than the things of the Spirit. For example, man can chat with friends for hours, but can’t chat with his beloved, his savior, his God for that long. Why? You answer that.

This fallen nature has diffused into the atmosphere making our society toxic. Spiritual songs, or gospel songs which edifies the human soul and spirit is frown upon, while the toxic and corrosive nature of secular songs are being embraced.

Some secular songs fuels you to do evil without you even thinking. Let’s look at some: there is a song which ‘advises’ you to let your beloved go if he cheats or treats you wrong. It goes like, “to the left to the left…” you listen to this song, and think that you have got some support in breaking up with your beloved without your forgiveness, yet the singer of the song couldn’t do what she ‘preached’; she had the sense to forgive her beloved when he publicly cheated. Ask yourself, “Where is my wisdom?” Another secular singer sang a song where he said he would take bullet for his girl, yet that same singer couldn’t hold down his girlfriend of many years when she became dissatisfied with their relationship. He couldn’t show much ‘love’ and attention for his girl after she had sacrificed much say, her time and support for him. Another singer sang that we should shine bright like a diamond in the sky, yet the ‘torch’ hasn’t fallen upon her for her to get true love. All she seem to have around are fakers and money thirsty dudes.

I am not saying these things to shame secular singers. No! I mean, what more can they do when they are in darkness and trying to monetize their darkness?

Another secular artist recently came out with a song saying that she doesn’t cook, nor clean but she got the ring. I don’t know if she was trying to create a rhyme or what, but I bet you that people bought into her ‘gospel’, yet this same singer was seen with a broom in a video sweeping. What is all these deception?

I don’t blame them. As I said earlier, they are all trying to monetize their darkness since that is all that they know and see. I rather blame us, Christians, who are mandated, appointed, and created as lights for this world, yet we act all apologetic about our lights, and accept/permit darkness.

This world is tasteless and that is why it tries to bring into being any disgusting thing, yet we, Christians who are the salt of this earth are hiding our saltiness out of fear and permitting evil to abound because that is what is known.

No! That is NOT the ‘known’. It is known and accepted by the world because they live in darkness, but we are supposed to introduce light to them like how Steve Jobs introduced iPad among many other Apple products to consumers who didn’t even know they needed that. And guess what, he got market.

The world doesn’t know what it wants yet. It is just living in the ‘norm-al’, but it is up to us, as Christians to introduce the products of our lights and Salt in reasonable amounts to the world.

Note: Too much light is blinding and would not be accepted. Likewise, too much salt would be repelled just like no salt. So, if you decide to shine your light, and let your saltiness in the LORD be felt, please seek wisdom [James 1:5-6] from the LORD so that you don’t do too much or ‘pour’ too much salt at the end wasting your saltiness.

Finally, I would like to say that the reason why evil is permitted is because the world is already in darkness. But it doesn’t mean that the world doesn’t need light: Shine your light bright in wisdom: Don’t shout, don’t scream, don’t demand, don’t impose or whatsoever. Do everything in love and wisdom. Don’t let fear stop you from doing anything. You can’t please everybody, and everybody mustn’t like you. You know why? It is because, ‘woe to you if everybody says all manner of good about you…’ The world hated the prophets, and even your savior, Jesus Christ. What makes you think that if you are following in Jesus’ steps, the world should like you?

In fact, “BLESSED ARE YOU WHEN OTHERS REVILE YOU AND PERSECUTE YOU AND UTTER ALL KINDS OF EVIL AGAINST YOU FALSELY ON MY (Jesus’) ACCOUNT.  REJOICE and BE GLAD, for your REWARD is GREAT in HEAVEN, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.[Matthew 5:11-12]

“You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people’s feet.” [Matthew 5:13].

“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” [Matthew 5:14-16].  AMEN!

Some may argue that certain secular songs got them through difficult times. It is true, they may have. However, this is what I tell you, if you neglect the main meal, any junk food would seem appropriate to you, but if you should eat the main meal, you and I know that not only will you be full and have no need for any junk food, but you would be well nourished too. Choose wisely… Nothing can ever replace the importance and need of gospel songs, God, His Word, or anything related to Him in our lives. If you choose and follow secular songs, it would be like you are chasing the wind; it’s VANITY upon VANITY! Wisdom is a beautiful garment!… Wear it!

Amen.

Have a good day and Stay Blessed. I Love U… Amen
