(…in the Days of your Youth)
“Remember the Lord, Your God in the days of your youth”. This statement is very important. You know that it is during your youth that most of life altering decisions are made. Should these decisions be made carelessly, so will your life be. But we all know that it is not always that we know what to do, or which road to use when we meet a crossroad. However, this is when the scripture should come to mind.
“Remember” implies that whatever it is should have been in your memory already, and then you recollect. You should have known the ways of God already even before you get to your youth, so that during your youth (in “crossroads moments”) you would apply the wisdom you have gain from the Word of God. “Train UP a child in the way he should go, and when he GROWS, he will never depart from it.”
During your youth where temptations are strong,
During your youth when the key to your future is in your hands,
During your youth when your path is set before you, YOU SHOULD REMEMBER THE LORD. You should have known him, and have walked with him. So that when you reach those crossroads, you will remember Him (his Word) and apply Him (His Wisdom) to your decisions and life.
Meanwhile, if you have not known the LORD, if you have not heard about Him really, I admonish you to start seeking him. He created the world, so he knows the ‘corners’ of this world, both the physical and spiritual. It would be so wrong of you to disregard his instructions, admonishment, and teachings, and choose your own path. In words, you are saying you know better than Him. Well, you may be. But don’t you think that if the Wisest Man on Earth submitted to the Word of God, then you should submit too? You believe in Science, but science has its limits and they know it. Believe in the invisible God, who knows not only the physical or spiritual, but who (together with you) can control the physical and spiritual. If you have ever seen or heard that a sick person was healed through prayer, then I tell you that God exist, even though like a wind we don’t see him. He is closer to you than you think. He is knocking at the door of your heart, ready to pour love into you, and teach you love by loving you even while you were yet a sinner.
Love Jesus Christ. Don’t keep a ‘grudge’ with him. Besides, holding a grudge against someone is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die. It doesn’t work like that. Don’t wait till you are on your death bed, or in a critical condition before you call on the name of the Lord. Seek him now, so that you would remember him later.
Jesus Loves You.
Amen.
