Cravings is your body signals trying to tell you it needs something. Your body doesn’t filter the ‘moral labels’ of what it is craving. Cravings are like habits; when you have subjected your body to a particular thing for a long time, and actually did enjoy it, but now you want to quit its supply, or that the body isn’t getting the amount it used to get and even more, it sends you signals like reminders. Trying to tell you to feed it that thing.

How do you overcome the ‘power’ of craving? The solution is similar to breaking a habit_ “Just don’t feed the bears anymore.” Your body is throwing ‘tantrums’ like a little baby. Shut your ears to those ‘cries’. If what your body is craving is bad or is something you are trying to stop, then don’t feed the “bears” (the cravings). Actually give your body the opposite of what it is craving. If you don’t have anything available, drink lots of water till you get full to ‘keep the body positively busy’: “Hey, here is some water. Work on that… instead.”

Always remember that you are bigger than your cravings. And since you are big, you should be the one controlling your cravings, not your cravings controlling you. If the ‘craving’ is a particular thought, DISTRACT that thought with another thought of opposite energy. I tell you what, even suicide thoughts can be distracted. I have experienced that. So don’t allow yourself to be controlled by anything, not even your cravings or your thought. You are BIGGER than that.

However, should you ‘fall’, and then feed your cravings because it was too ‘loud’ or you just happened to also like what it was requesting, DON’T FEEL BAD ABOUT IT! Just make sure that when you fall 7 times, YOU GET UP 8!

Stay Blessed.

One last thing: if the craving is a particular food, and you don’t want to eat that particular food because it is bad or unhealthy, FORCE yourself to eat a meal DIFFERENT from what your body is craving. You will realize that your body will get full, and the craving will be nowhere. It would be like you have distracted the signaling. Also, if the craving is a particular thought, DISTRACT yourself with another thought. If the different thought doesn’t come easy to you, then DELIBERATELY distract yourself with something, and activity or anything interesting which will keep your mind busy. It is almost like your mind can’t share its ‘priority energy’. So if the ‘priority energy’ is on a wrong thought, DISTRACT YOURSELF with a good thought, so that your mind would be directed there. I hope this helps.

Be Good!

“People ask me what I do in the winter when there’s no baseball. I’ll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring.”
