When you are from a broken home, a chaotic home, a single parent home, or in a toxic and unpeaceful marriage, your progress in life is likely to be slow.

This is not because of you per se, but because of the environment/situation you are in. The environment is shaping your thoughts and expectations. While people in a stable home or family are thinking about the next career move or the next progress move, you would be thinking about WHEN the storms will be over at home and in your family. You would be thinking about when and how this storm of chaos will cease.

Meanwhile, time wouldn’t pause because of the situation you are in. While you have halted your progress, thinking about issues, and in your feelings, time would be moving forward. Your colleagues from good homes will be making bigger progress than you. Before you will know, you would have wasted time, and your life.

This waste would even make you angrier; seeing your colleagues whom you were in the same class with, or whom you were even better than climbing to the top, and you are beneath the ladder watching them.

No! We can’t let this happen to us. As long as time keeps ticking in spite of the weather of the earth, WE WOULD ALSO KEEP MOVING STEADILY AND FORWARD IN SPITE OF THE STORMS WE ARE IN!

“What can I do?” You may ask. What you can do to help yourself is to put your family situation ON HOLD in your mind. Put it away in a ‘file’ somewhere which you would visit at THE APPOINTED TIME.

Your family involves other people, and its situations cannot be solved by ONLY YOU. The people involved have their own Will, desires, thoughts and directions in life. You alone can’t control it all into a balance.

But your future, career, goals, and dreams can be managed by ONLY you. It is easier to achieve them than to solve your family problems.

File your family issues somewhere and ‘selfishly’ and wholeheartedly focus on yourself; your dreams, goals, and aspirations. Go for it babe. DO NOT LOOK BACK!

Who knows? Maybe, when your family members see you climbing to the top out of the miry clay you all are in, they would be motivated and inspired to do same? Should this happen, you would have killed two birds with one stone.

Close your eyes on your family problems. Don’t let them distract you. Like Peter, don’t look at the boisterous wind blowing on the sea. Rather, look up to your future. Look up to your dreams, and WALK ON THE SEA! Do the Impossible. WALK ON WATER!

Don’t Doubt!

            Don’t Fear!

Your goals are calling you, “COME!” Have Faith, Rise up, and Walk!

Don’t worry about family FOR NOW. They will be fine. Leave them in the BOAT, and STEP OUT ONTO THE SEA. WALK!

Jesus says, “COME!”

Quote of the week

“People ask me what I do in the winter when there’s no baseball. I’ll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring.”
