Ever since Eve ate that forbidden fruit in the Garden of Eden, man has had a taste for dangerous alternatives. For example; instead of a stable marriage, man wants a homosexual affair; instead of a quiet and stable lifestyle, man wants a risky and an adventurous lifestyle.

In fact, he even calls the quiet and stable lifestyle boring, and the dangerous and adventurous one fun. Didn’t the wisest man on earth, King Solomon say that PLEASURE IS VANITY? I guess this taste for dangerous alternatives is as a result of the curse of OPTIONS: When there are options/alternatives to an original thing, be it counterfeit or not, it makes it difficult for a person to NOT have a choice; a dangerous alternative of course.

For instance, the option and possibility to have an affair makes staying married, and avoiding divorce difficult, because one is tempted to cheat.

Monopoly may not be a good business strategy for the society as a whole, but it is a good thing when the attention is on the vitals of life; marriage, health, body organs, etc. When we have one and only one of a vital thing, we aren’t tempted to look elsewhere should hell break loose. Rather, we are INSPIRED and CHALLENGED to look for solutions to help solve problems.

But where there are options, having the ZEAL and EAGERNESS to FIGHT for a good cause is not there; it is robbed. The presence of OPTIONS is a curse.

Like the forbidden fruit in the Garden of Eden, options or dangerous alternatives are going to be in our face daily. It is left onto us to LISTEN and OBEY the Master’s command; “Do not eat of that fruit (dangerous alternatives/options). The day you eat, you shall surely die.” The day you consider choosing an option, a dangerous alternative instead of the original, YOU SHALL SURELY DIE.

The forbidden fruit didn’t lead to the acquisition of wisdom or any fun as the devil promised/ told Eve. Rather, it led to poverty, loss, and pain.

A dangerous alternative is a poison wrapped in a golden foil.

BE SOBER!

BE VIGILANT!

Stay Blessed. Amen.
