Why do we share our personal lives online? Who said we need to share our personal life? Who even needs to know about our personal life online? How does our personal life online benefit people?

Our personal life should be PERSONAL!

Our personal life should be OUR LIFE!

Since there is no camera on our personal lives, we needn’t show any part of it to people.

The Bible says, “Let your light shine before men that they may see your GOOD WORKS and glorify your Father in Heaven.” [Matthew 5:16]

The Bible adds, “No one lights a lamp and hides it in a clay jar or puts it under a bed. Instead, they put it on a stand, so that those who come in can see the light.” [Luke 8:16NIV]

What is your light?

            What are your good works?

Which deeds of yours bring light to the world? Those deeds or good works are what you should shine before men. That is what you should put on a lampstand (social media) for everyone to see. Not your personal life!

Social media is a lampstand. It holds light (your purpose, your good deeds, your inspiration, and the likes) so that those who come online can see the light. Hence, making the world brighter and a better place.

But sadly, for a few likes, and stimuli, most of us put sticks (our personal life, gossip, etc) on these lampstands (social media) instead of lamps. How selfish can we be? These careless and unfulfilling acts just makes the world darker and worse.

Social media is good. It is a good lampstand to help your light shine bright.

But like every good thing, if you abuse it, or don’t know its ultimate value, it becomes an evil thing for you.

Social media is a lampstand, so Let your lights shine before men (online), that they may see your good works and GLORIFY YOUR FATHER IN HEAVEN. Amen.

“People ask me what I do in the winter when there’s no baseball. I’ll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring.”
