(the 28-days Unfollow Challenge)

The world is full of geniuses. But many are distracted.

Many people are creators and innovators, but their minds are cluttered.

Many people want peace and sound minds, but their environment is noisy.

Not anymore. We are going to remove the distraction, clutter and noise. We are going to take back our power, and rule. We are going to haunt down the technology witchcraft. Yes, you heard me.

There is witchcraft going on our social media platforms. Many may not know it, and many may not call it witchcraft, but it is. What is happening is following the same pattern as witchcraft (An individual prospers/gets all at the detriment of the masses).

God created no junk. He put treasures in all of us. Some have realized theirs and have worked with it to produce wealth. others are yet to find theirs, while some don’t think they have any treasure in them.

God created a beautiful world and put man in it. But some grew up to become monsters due to their life circumstances, upbringing, misfortunes, or their environment.

This shows that all human beings like the five fingers on a hand ARE NOT EQUAL. We may have the same treasures in us, but our upbringing or environment may be different; we may share similar upbringing and life circumstances, but the treasures in us are different; in rare cases, we may share the same environment, and inner treasures, but have different ages (older, and younger).

Whatever it is, we have to grow … high. Even though the five fingers on a hand are NOT EQUAL, none of them grows downwards: They all are UP STANDING.

We have focused so much on the heights of the different fingers that we didn’t realize they are growing in the same direction, and they are helping one another. Tell me, without your thumb, how efficient will you use your arm? Every finger needs the other.

There is witchcraft happening on these social media platforms of ours. I want to throw a challenge at you: For the next 28 days, unfollow anybody on the various social media platforms who is not really pouring into your interests, passion, dreams, or career.

Unfollow any site which makes you nosy, distracted, have cluttered mind or is just too noisy.

I want you to create a sound environment around you which will harness the growth of your potential. You have to be a ‘celebrity’ too. You have to be a public figure. You have to be an influencer.

Who is influencing you on social media? Are they pouring into you the oil and wealth you need to grow, or are they just making noise to distract you, and have you follow them like a statistic, so that they can use the numbers (head count/followings) to gain money for themselves?

Are you just a headcount, or are you being influenced and mentored towards your passions and dreams.

The witchcraft I am talking about is this: Some people who have gotten help or hustled their way up to become ‘influential’ on the social media platforms are creating contents which DON’T encourage, teach, rebuke, correct, grow, and impact their audience. Rather, they create noise (content), just to get the masses excited.

They create ‘exciting noise’ like narcotic drugs to get people high and hooked, so that those people become followers. And then they use that following to gain ambassadorial deals, brand deals, and the likes.

None of them encourages you nor teaches you how to harness your potential. Even if they do, it is once in a while. It feels like a pin dropped in an ocean (almost lost).

No more!

No more is someone going to waste your time for their own gain in the name of social media.

No more will someone spike anxiety, depression and low self-esteem in you just for them to feel some validation. No more!

No more is someone going to flaunt their wealth as if they have the key to life. No more!

Your time is YOUR time, and you are going to use it for YOUR GOOD.

So, for the next 28 days, I challenge you to UNFOLLOW any person who isn’t speaking to the true you: Your purpose, interests, and dreams.

If you desire to be a great basketball player, follow the basketball player who inspires you, not those who make you question your worth, and time.

If you love fashion, follow fashion inspirations. Don’t follow gossip blogs or sites in the name of fun, else your purpose will be ‘fun away’.

I hope you get me.

Social media has caused many to commit suicide, be it physically or emotionally. Many have killed their dreams with the thought, “I can never get there. What’s new under the sun? My idea is stupid.”

No baby girl! Your idea isn’t stupid. If you think it is because you have tried it 7 times, then we should say that the man who made the bulb really had a stupid idea. I mean, trying something over 100 times and yet fail? You must be really stupid. But was he? No! In fact, he was a GAME CHANGER. And so are you.

The noise in your head is just too much.

If you want to laugh, watch comics, not gossip.

If you don’t want to feel alone, read inspirational materials and see how people in similar situations as yours made it. Don’t sit around watching what people are faking online or watching how already rich people are living their lives. No! Every big tree started from a small seed. Your seed is in you, and it’s waiting on you to cultivate it. Don’t kill it with the foul oil of social media influence.

You are not God to know the “behind the scenes” of their lives. You are not God to know that they are faking it till they make it.

Switch off any noise, distraction, or clutter from your environment. And go down into the wells of your inner being to mine the gold in you.

You are a treasure. You carry treasures. Seek the appropriate counsel, knowledge and wisdom to know how to honorably turn your 5 talents into 10.

Why are you following Kim? Ask yourself why?

            Why are you following Kanye?

                        Why are you following Jay?

Why are you following Bee? Do they inspire you? What do they inspire you to do? Is that in line with your purpose?

Why are you following that movie star, or artist? Do they inspire, encourage, or teach you anything around your purpose, dreams and passions, or are they clock symbols showing you that you are behind in life?

Check your celebrities, do they have integrity? With their competence do they have character?

In the words of Jesus I say, “Before you is life and death. Make your choice. I just hope that you will choose life.”

If nothing good and tangible grows in your comfort, and ‘fun’ zone, then choose your life, and give it the best. Choose contents, and creators who inspire you to be the best. Not those who publicly flaunt their wealth but privately go to sleep in pain.

Your life is precious, give it the best content.

PEACE!
