A wood can kill a snake

A sword can kill a snake too

But a sword can cut through wood.

The Sword is the weapon of God (prayer)

The wood is the weapon of the devil (evil).

Inasmuch as the sword is powerful, if it is NOT used, the fragile wood will seem more powerful than the sword.

Satan is no match to God just as a wood is no match to a sword. But when the people of God refuse to use their swords (prayer), they shouldn’t complain when evil and failure abound in their lives.

Even Jesus, when he slept, the enemy struck (he sent a storm). It took Jesus drawing his sword (“Peace be still”) before the wood (evil) gave way. Don’t think that because you have a sword, the wood (the enemy, evil) will not strike. In fact, the wood wants to render the sword useless. So, it baits Christian warriors with distractions by growing ‘beautiful’ flowers around itself so that the soldiers will think the wood is harmless. But just when these warriors are deceived and relax, the enemy strikes with his thorny wood.

The darts of the enemy are fiery. So, take up your shield of FAITH dear soldier. And don’t forget to use your sword too [Ephesians 6]. Don’t think that because you have a sword you are immune to the attacks of the enemy. The enemy will strike with his wood till he is able to kill you, steal from you and then destroy you.

The Sword and the wood.

Dear Christian, rise and sharpen your sword.

Dear Christian, rise and take up your shield.

Stop putting your shield and sword down to have ‘some fun’.

Take up your shield dear Christian

Use your sword: Speak in tongues. Speaks mysteries into the Spirit realm. Say things the enemy wouldn’t understand. Speak mysteries the enemy wouldn’t have any knowledge of.

Speak in tongues.

Use your sword.

Pray

Use your sword

Build your faith

Trust your sword

IT’S A DOUBLE-EDGED SWORD. IT IS GOD HIMSELF.

Amen.

“People ask me what I do in the winter when there’s no baseball. I’ll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring.”
