A person who eats to get obese is lacking purpose. He is not in touch with his interests and hobbies.
Try this: Fast for some hours say from 6am to 12noon. And while at it, pursue what you love to do, except eating. Don’t cheat.
Pursue that interest. Is it writing, painting, learning? Anything at all which reaches your soul. And have some fun too. When you do this, you are tapping dopamine from your inner self, not from outside stimuli like food.
You shouldn’t depend on food for your emotional needs. Food is for the nourishment of the body, not for the “nourishment of the heart/soul”. It’s your purpose which nourishes your heart, and your soul. So, seek Purpose, instead of food: Post that blog, design that outfit, learn those tutorials, etc.
Try to depend LESS on outside stimuli even your friends. Instead, try to tap everything from within you. The treasure chest is IN you.
When you can tap into your inner self, you will realise how LESS you will depend on food or any outside stimuli.
Fast often. Just for some few hours say, 6am to 12 noon. While you fast (abstaining from food), pursue activities which interests you. Activities which bring you joy, happiness and fulfilment. With time you will realise that the hold of food upon you will become less until it loses its power over you forever.
Remember, food is for the nourishment of the body, not really for the nourishment of your “soul/heart”. It’s your Purpose, interests, hobbies, and skills which nourishes your soul, and boosts dopamine in you.
The moment you depend on food for the nourishment of your soul, you will become an addict (a SLAVE).
