What is that feeling you are having?

Is that fear I am seeing in your eyes?

Why are you scared?

Where did that fear come from?

“For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline.” [2 Timothy 1:8]

“But the LORD God called to the man, ‘Where are you?’ He answered, ‘I heard you in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid’.” [Genesis 3:9-10]

“Moses answered the people, ‘Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the LORD will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still.” [Exodus 14:13-14]

“The disciples went and woke him, saying, ‘Lord, save us! We’re going to drown!’ He replied, ‘You of LITTLE FAITH, why are you so afraid? Then He got up and rebuked the winds and the waves and it was completely calm.” [Matthew 8:25-26]

If you haven’t been given something, how do you get/have it then?

According to the scripture in 2 Timothy 1:8, we are told that God did not give us a spirit of timidity. Other translations say fear. So I ask, if God hasn’t given it to us, why then do we feel fear now and then?

“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” [2 Timothy 3:16-17]

“We live by Faith, NOT by sight.” [2 Corinthians 5:7]

Fear is not a ‘feeling’: It is a SPIRIT. It is the gatekeeper to the dark world. If you entertain fear in your mind and in your heart, it will open your spirit to other demons like it. Demons such as anxiety [Philippians 4:6], worry [Matthew 6:25], doubt [James 1:6], among many others. You will begin to analyse your beliefs, biblical principles, and life rationally even as a Christian instead of having faith in it.

Fear is a spirit and has to be cast out like a demon. It is an intruder, and is dangerous. If you entertain fear and brand it as nervousness, you are in trouble.

Being nervous has to do with the mind/brain, but having fear/being afraid is an attack on your spirit. If you allow this attack to happen or take place, you would become imprisoned for life.

It is said that the phrase, “Fear Not” exists 365 times in the Bible. If this is true, then it speaks a lot to us that we have to kick fear out of our lives everyday. Fear is a cancer which eats you up rapidly. The easiest way to keep it away is to resist it. When anything fearful comes your way, remind yourself that you have not been given a spirit of fear, but of power, of love and of self-discipline [2 Timothy 1:8].

Are you lazy? That isn’t God.

You are a reflection of God. Would God be fearful of the devil or life circumstances? Then why is His image (You) fearful?

We note from the book of Genesis that Adam and Eve didn’t know what fear was until the devil came into the picture.

When you have a sense of fear around you at any point in time in your life, know that it is the devil knocking on the door of your heart. Would you let him in? No! Cast that hell of a devil out! NOW! Don’t entertain fear. It is not a friend but a thief. I don’t think anybody will entertain a dangerous thief just because he/she is ‘lonely’.

Please and please don’t entertain fear. So long as this spirit has a name called fear, it means it got an ear. If the storm could listen to the voice of Jesus and become calm, fear can also hear you and get out of you.

DO NOT ENTERTAIN FEAR.

Fear is not in you: It is in the world roaming like a roaring lion, seeking who to devour.

When you ignorantly, pitifully, and weakly accept/entertain fear, you will be a shadow of your own self.

And look at the irony here: when you disobey God’s word and go your own way with fear, and fear also welcomes into you its other demons like anxiety, worry, doubt, depression, and the likes, you become imprisoned. Now in other to get out of this ‘prison’ you would have to pay your prison guards in this case, pharmacists, doctors, psychologists, etc to keep you out of this mess, all because YOU DIDN’T LISTEN!  Be obedient and save yourself some money, time and life!

Fear is a Spirit, Cast it out in the Name of Jesus!

And one more thing; from the scripture we read in 2 Timothy 3:16-17, we realise that the scriptures is God-breathed and its use is for teaching, correcting, rebuking, and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

God is love, and so is His Word. If you hear any word of His from somebody and what the person says brings Fear in you, don’t accept it: It is not from God.

God’s word will rebuke you.

            It will correct you.

                        It will teach you.

And it will train you in righteousness.

But it will not put fear in you. Because he said, He hasn’t given us a spirit of fear…

If He hasn’t given us a spirit of fear, why would his ‘word’ give us a spirit of fear?

You get that? Don’t allow anybody to put fear in you and tell you that he is preaching God’s word. That is a lie. God is love, and His Word is Love. What His word does is to teach you, rebuke you, correct you, and to train you in righteousness. Anything other than this is evil! Amen.
